Short Bio
  • Prof. Shih-Sung Chuang is a Taiwanese and graduated from medical school in 1988. Dr. Chuang went to Kansai Medical University, Osaka, Japan as a research fellow investigating for three months in 1991. After pathology board certification in 1992, Dr. Chuang moved to Sin-Lau Christian Hospital, Tainan, Taiwan. Dr. Chuang went to Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN., USA to learn neoplastic hematopathology from Prof. Chin-Ying Li for one year, starting from July 1995. He moved to Chi-Mei Hospital, Tainan in 1998. Dr. Chuang went to University College London to learn lymphoma with Prof. Peter Isaacson for one year from September 2001. Dr. Chuang became a professor in February 2012 at Taipei Medical University and then a professor at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. The research interest of Dr. Chuang is lymphoma. He is the first author of the chapter “Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma” in the WHO book on Head and Neck tumor published in 2017. He is the first (responsible) author of the chapter “Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma” in the coming 5th edition of the WHO Hematolymphoid book and also a co-author in two other chapters in that WHO book. He is now director, Department of Pathology, Chi-Mei Medical Center, Tainan, Taiwan.
