Short Bio
  • Dr. Shouhui Yang received his Ph.D. degree in Cell Biology from Peking Union Medical College and Tsinghua University in 2012. He then moved to the United States and was trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and subsequently at the Laboratory of Human Carcinogenesis at the National Cancer Institute, NIH. He was promoted to Staff Scientist in 2019 at NCI. Dr. Yang’s work is focused on identifying novel therapeutic targets and molecular subtypes for developing precision treatment approaches for patients with pancreatic cancer. These avenues are investigated through the integrated analysis of genetic and molecular profiling of PDAC patient cohorts, and functional characterization using cell lines, genetically engineered mouse models, and human pancreatic cancer patient-derived organoids. Dr. Yang has published multiple papers as the first author in internationally renowned journals such as Cancer Research, Clinical Cancer Research, and Oncogene. He has received multiple NIH Awards for his research in the field of pancreatic cancer.
