  • Agieshkumar. B, is currently a faculty in MGM-Advanced Research Institute, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). He had completed his master degree in Biotechnology from Pondicherry Central University and later obtained PhD in Biotechnology and Microbiology from ICMR-Vector Control Research Centre, a WHO collaborating ICMR permanent Centres. Dr. Kumar had his postdoctoral training in the areas of Molecular Microbiology from Texas Tech University (USA) and from the Dept. of Cellular biology, University of Georgia (USA). He started his career as Assistant professor in SASTRA University, India and has about 14 years of teaching & research experience post PhD. He current research focuses on biomarkers for infectious and metabolic diseases; arbo viral pathogenesis, prognostic devices. He has published several papers in the areas of Virology as first/corresponding authors in high impact international peer reviewed Journals like Trans Res, Front Cell Devel Biol, PLoS NTDs,  PLoS One, Green Chemistry, Infection, IJID, Microb Pathog etc., He has ongoing/completed extramural projects funded by DBT, ICMR, CSIR, DHR etc as PI/Co-PI. He is actively involved in mentoring full time PhD students bsides UG, PG students in the areas of molecular biology. He was awarded prestigious ICMR-DHR international award and was a visiting fellow in the department of Microbiology & Immununology, NUS (2020). He is reviewer for top Journals like Nature Sci Rep, J Biomed Sci, Biochem J, Cell &Biosci PloS One, Viruses etc., Grant reviewer for SERB. His current research focus includes dengue and arboviral pathogenesis, biomarkers for infectious diseases, and developing prognostic devices. He has active collaborations with NUS, CSIR-IICT, CSIR-CSIO, JIPMER.
