Short Bio
- I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, and a degree in Pedagogy. I specialized in Comparative Anatomy, both Human and Animal, through the University of São Paulo (USP) in 2006. My academic background also includes a Master’s in Sciences from the Department of Surgery at USP’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ-USP, 2006) and a Doctorate in Sciences from the same institution and department in 2011. Additionally, I completed two postdoctoral fellowships in Sciences: one at the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at USP’s Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICB-USP) and another in the Department of Surgery at FMVZ-USP. Currently, I serve as a Contracted Professor III at USP’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, within the Department of Surgery, focusing on the Anatomy of Domestic and Wild Animals. I also teach in the postgraduate program on the Anatomy of Domestic and Wild Animals. My professional expertise lies in Veterinary Medicine and Biochemistry, with a specialized focus on Metabolism and Bioenergetics. My research primarily addresses the following areas: Human and Animal Anatomy, Morphology, Molecular and Tissue Biology, Stereology, Light and Electron Microscopy, Nervous System and Neuroanatomy, Nutrition, Malnutrition and Renutrition, Laboratory Animal Studies, Liver and Hepatocytes, Cancer-associated Cachexia, Lipid Metabolism, and Endocrinology.
