Short Bio
  • Dr. Mamunur Rashid graduated from Jawaharlal Nehru University while working at the CSIR Central Drug Research Institute, India, in Biological Sciences (Pharmacokinetics & Pharmaceutics). He received his bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry and Master's (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology from the Aligarh Muslim University, India. Dr. Rashid's work is focused on the preclinical pharmacokinetics (bioavailability, dose-proportionality, species variation, allometric scaling) to inform the pre-clinical studies to address the impact of pharmacokinetics at early drug discovery. His research helps to decipher the molecular mechanism of ADME/disposition and interaction of new molecules with drug-metabolizing enzymes based on metabolic stability, formation of reactive metabolites, mass fragmentation, metabolite identification, enzyme kinetics, drug transport, and permeability across biological barriers to move forward in drug development by using high-end analytical instruments like UPLC, LC-MS/MS (QTRAP 5500, QTRAP 4000 and API 4000). In addition, Dr. Rashid utilizes metabolomics to assess metabolic pathways, aiding in the strategic sequencing of drugs across diverse disease conditions.
