- Prof. Tommaso Cai is the Chief of Urology section at Santa Maria del Carmine Hospital, Rovereto, Italy. He was graduated cum laude in 2002 in Medicine at the University of Florence and he was specialised cum laude in Urology in 2007 at the University of Florence. He is a member of ESIU (European Section for Infections in Urology) and member of EAU guideline group on urological infections. He is a member of International Society of Chemotherapy and Secretary of Italian Society of Andrology. Dr. Tommaso Cai’s scientific activity is documented in more than 700 printed publications in books and Italian and international journals (210 original articles and more than 530 abstracts), addressing issues of prostate and bladder cancer, urinary tract infections, microbiota, andrology, mini-invasive surgery, sexually transmitted diseases, making use of novel technologies. The main topics of research are: Prostatitis and Urinary Tract Infections; Pathological and clinical factors in prostatitis patients; Antibiotic pharmacology and bacterial resistance; Andrology and Male fertility; Pathological and prognostic factors in prostate and bladder carcinoma; Novel approach to the prognostic factors evaluation in prostate tumours. He has an official position in several urological and non-urological Journals. From 2020 is the Editor-in-Chief of Uro, a Journal produced by MDPI. He is editor of several books of urological interest.
