Short Bio
- Tavan Janvilisri is a professor of molecular biology at the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. He received a bachelor degree in Biochemistry and Genetics in 2000 and a master degree in Oncology in 2001 from the University of Nottingham. He earned a doctorate in Pharmacology from the University of Cambridge in 2004 for his studies on the substrate specificities of the human ATP-binding cassette transporters ABCG1 and ABCG2. During his time in Cambridge, he also was an assistant examiner for Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examination Board. He joined the faculty at Mahidol in 2005 and started his collaborative work with others. From 2007-2010, he received a postdoctoral fellowship to conduct research at College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University. He was appointed associate professor in 2011 and gained his professorship in 2017. He has been elected as an executive committee of The Science Society of Thailand under the Patronage of His Majesty the King in 2022.
