Abstract
TNP-470 is known to inhibit angiogenesis. In this study, we investigated the antitumor effect of TNP-470 in colon 26 tumors. A dose dependent growth inhibition of tumor and liver metastasis was observed. An additive administration of PSK enhanced inhibitory effect of the tumor. Combined treatment of TNP-470 and 5-FU significantly prolonged the life span compared to the TNP-470 and 5-FU group. It is suggested that the combination of TNP-470 and 5-FU might be effective for the treatment of colon cancer and PSK might increase the antitumor effect from the viewpoint of immunity and angiogenetic mechanism.
