Short Bio
- Yadong Zheng, a professor in parasitology, received PhD in Molecular Bioscience (2012) from the University of Nottingham, UK. The research interests are mainly focused on these small RNAs of pathogens in animals and humans, including parasites and their hosts, and gene silencing pathways involved, including 1) analysis of expression profiling of srRNAs and characterization of their roles in the pathogens’ growth and development, and infection and immunity; 2) investigation of the biogenesis pathways of srRNAs; 3) revelation of miRNA-induced silencing gene regulation networks; 4) assessment of the possibility of miRNAs and their pathways as therapeutic targets. Prof Zheng is Associate Editor of Frontiers in Genetics (2019-), Associate Editor of BMC Veterinary Research (2014-), Associate Editor of Frontiers in Veterinary Science (2018-), and member of Young Parasitologist Board of Parasitological Sub-association, China Zoological Society (2011-). Up to now, Prof Zheng has published 45 papers in SCI-indexed journals as a first or corresponding author and act as a reviewer for 38 SCI-indexed journals, such as Lancet Infectious Disease, Cancer Letters and so on.
