Short Bio
- Hoang Thanh Chi received his B.S. in biotechnology from the University of Sciences in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2007. He then received his Master's degree in 2010 and his Ph.D. in 2013 from Tokyo University (Japan), where he worked on the mechanism of anticancer activity of EGCG extract from green tea under the supervision of Prof. Toshiki Watanabe and Prof. Yuko Sato. Hoang Thanh Chi is an expert in first-generation sequencing (Sanger sequencing) and has screened for mutations in leukemia-related genes such as BCR-ABL, CKIT, NPM1, FLT3, CEBPA, HBA, HBB, and JAK2. He is also familiar with next-generation sequencing platforms like Illumina and IonTorrent. Participating in the screening for BRCA1/2 mutations in the ovarian cancer study He focused his research on the functional investigation of the ETV6-NTRK3 fusion gene and pharmacological testing for small-molecule inhibitors of ETV6-NTRK3. His research emphasizes the anti-tumor activity of bioactive compounds in leukemia and gastrointestinal stromal tumors. He is also a specialist in developing standard labs for cell banking and supervising the operation of stem cell laboratories. Recently, he has focused on mesenchymal stem cells and platelet-rich plasma.
