- Associate professor in laboratory medicine at the University of Trieste All my past and current scientific and research path has been focused on the use of innovative techniques for the analysis of nucleic acids and proteins in clinical samples, in particular in fixed and embedded clinical tissues (archive tissues). In this field I have been studying the effects of the fixation process on biomolecules, with particular attention to the RNAs’ population, but also on the identification of molecular markers that can be used in the diagnosis of neoplastic diseases as well as in predicting the therapeutic response for a more personalized and sustainable approach of the different oncological therapies.
