Short Bio
- Biochemist formed in the field of free radical biology and medicine and immunometabolism. Molecular mechanisms of metabolic diseases and local epidemiology basis linked to SNPs in lipogenic/inflammogenic transcription factors and enzymes. Molecular basis of macrophage polarization in adipose tissue in vitro and in vivo models of diet induced obesity. Molecular basis of lung tissue inflammation and neutrophil homing/activation into the obese lung with emphasis on myloperoxidase. Link between adipose and lung tissue inflammation and insulin resistance. These data are expected to provide mechanism-based therapeutics to reduce insulin resistance using synthetic and natural products.
