Short Bio
  • Dr Romain Boidot (PhD) is head of the Molecular Biology activities of the Georges-François Leclerc anticancer Center in Dijon, France. After studying alternative splicing of Survivin gene in breast cancer during his PhD, he performed a post-doctorate in Brussels, Belgium, where he focused on tumor angiogenesis and hypoxia. Afterwards, he came back in Dijon where he has created a Next Generation Sequencing platform firstly equipped with Illumina sequencing devices and, since December 2019, a Third Generation Sequencing device (GridION X5) has been implemented in his platform. In parallel, he has taken the Head of the routine molecular diagnosis lab representing more than 3500 tests per year (somatic genetics and germline genetics). Dr Boidot’s lab implemented exome sequencing and whole RNA sequencing in routine on his platform and collaborates with different teams in the world. From January 2014 to December 2019, Dr Boidot was a member of the INSERM U1231 unit, and has become a member of the CNRS UMR6302 unit since January 2020. After a period of study of immunology with a focus on alternative splicing in immunology, Dr Boidot’s research activity is now only focused on tumor genetics.
