Short Bio
- I received my M.D. and Ph.D. from Jilin University, Norman Bethune College of Medicine, China. After post-doctoral training at the Medical College of Wisconsin and University of Florida, Medical School, I jointed North Dakota State University, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences as an Assistant Professor. My current research is focused on central regulation of blood pressure and pathogenesis of hypertension, to identify novel targets for the treatment of hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases, such as stroke, myocadiac infarction, heart failure, sudden cardiac death. Based on the molecular structure of these identified targets, we develop therapeutic tools, which could be used for treatment of those cardiovascular diseases. The research techniques are used in our laboratory including: Patch Clamp and electrophysiology, small animal surgeries and models, blood pressure radio-telemetry, cardiovascular hemodynamic recoding, echocardiography, brain injection and infusion, blood vessel myograph, viral vector-mediated gene transfer, liposome nanoparticle-mediated gene or drug delivery, and other histology, immunology, molecular biology, biochemistry techniques.
