Cervical, ovarian, endometrial, vaginal, vulvar, breast, testicular, penile, and prostate cancers belong to a family of malignancies called reproductive cancers. These malignancies occur in the reproductive organs. Despite significant progress in tumor therapy over the past few decades, the development of chemoresistance and metastatic disease is still the most common cause of death in patients with reproductive cancer. Thus, it is necessary the development of new therapeutic approaches that can improve the diagnosis and treatment of these patients. A better understanding of the molecular changes in reproductive cancers should lead to the identification of useful molecular biomarkers that can accurately predict tumor outcome and the development of chemoresistance and metastasis. Moreover, understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying these types of tumors may facilitate the development of new therapies based on specific targets, significantly improving the efficacy of the therapy itself.
